Reviews for Tokina AT-X AF 10-17mm f3.5-4.5 DX Fisheye Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics) I've had a full-frame fisheye lens because the 1970s, starting with the Pentax Takumar 17mm in screw mount, followed by using the Pentax in K-mount, and then ultimately, the Nikkor 16mm handbook center of attention. So, when Tokina came out with this lens (which is actually the same because the Pentax, I've read in the same focal size), I needed to have one for my new Nikon D40. The zoom feature is good seeing that you can range the degree of the fisheye impact through againing it off slightly from the widest focal size of 10mm. And, though it is not going to auto-focus on the D40, there may be no use for actual focal point with this lens due to the extreme depth of field at these focal sizes. Suprisingly, once I installed the lens on my F100 movie body, you naturally get vignetting, capturing the lens hood in the picture, however zoom it out slightly and the vignetting disappears. So, with cropping, it's essential to use this lens on a 35mm movie physique and create some fascinating effects. Sharpness seems OK thus far. I'm not a lab tech and I do not buy lenses to photograph graph paper or the rest that absoluetly needs to be razor sharp from nook to nook.
Reviews for Tokina AT-X AF 10-17mm f3.5-4.5 DX Fisheye Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics) Lightweight lens with tremendous sharp optics, and can be utilized to focal point as close as eight inches. Great for close up nature images, and you are ready to get the flower in focal point together with the complete backyard in the background. The visible distortion makes some attention-grabbing photos at the 10 mm zoom level. Combine this lens with the nikkor 18-200 mm VR lens and that is all you wish to elevate on any commute. I didn't see any flare apart from when capturing into the sun. Lens is 15 oz., matte end with out a professional seem as just right as any nikon or canon lens.
